AzuraCast come with a built-in SFTP server that allows you to easily connect to your media directory, upload and move files using software of your choice.

Step 1: Create an SFTP User in AzuraCast

  1. Log in to your AzuraCast dashboard.
  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Media.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click SFTP Users.
  4. Click on Create New SFTP User.
  5. Fill in the following details:
    • Username – Enter a unique name for the DJ or admin.
    • Password – Set a secure password for the SFTP user.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Configure the SFTP Client

Recommended SFTP Clients:

  • FileZilla (Windows/Mac/Linux)
  • WinSCP (Windows)
  • Cyberduck (Mac)

????️ FileZilla Configuration:

  1. Open FileZilla.
  2. Go to FileSite ManagerNew Site.
  3. Enter the following details:
    • Protocol: SFTP – SSH File Transfer Protocol
    • Host: (Your AzuraCast server IP, visible on the SFTP Users page)
    • Port: 2022
    • Logon Type: Normal
    • User: (The SFTP username you created for the DJ)
    • Password: (The password you set)
  4. Click Connect.

Step 3: Test the Connection

  • Once connected, the DJ or station admin will be able to upload music files directly to their station’s media folder.
  • They can manage files, but their access is restricted to their station’s directory.

???? Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Connection Refused? Ensure that the SFTP service is enabled on your AzuraCast instance.
  • Incorrect Login? Double-check the username and password.
  • Port Issues? Make sure the client uses port 2022 instead of the default SFTP port (22).
